If you’re planning a special night out while in Reykjavik or simply want to treat yourself to a fine dining experience, then La Primavera is worth a visit. You’ll find this North Italian restaurant in the Harpa concert hall in the city center and in the historic Marshall House in the Grandi area so you can choose which location best fits your itinerary.

La Primavera Ristorante originally opened in 1993 and specialises in bringing authentic Italian flavors to Iceland. The menu changes regularly, with a curated selection of three starters, three mains, and a dessert that highlights seasonal ingredients.

While the menu is different every visit, you can generally expect an interesting pasta option, with freshly-made pasta, a fresh seafood dish, and a delicious meat option. The wine list is also extensive, and the knowledgeable staff can help you find the perfect pairing for your meal.

This restaurant is a bit of a wildcard on this list since it doesn’t quite fit the typical Italian restaurant ideal. That’s why it’s included as an honorable mention – it’s just too good to leave out!

If you’re interested in tasting innovative and interesting interpretations of Italian dishes, OTO is a must-try, as it offers a fusion of Italian and Japanese cuisine. The menu features some familiar dishes, like an absolutely delicious pumpkin ravioli or a burrata with figs and hazelnuts, which we can’t stop thinking about.

You’ll also see interesting combinations like the tagliatelle with salsiccia and taberu rayu and the artichoke with pine nuts and bagnet verd sauce. Don’t miss out on some of the best tiramisu in Reykjavik, either! We recommend trying their tasting menu for a true culinary adventure, as you’ll get to taste the whole range of flavors on offer.
